Outfit Of The day : Cut out and the Caftan

I finally got my hands on this dress from Forever21, that I had been crushing on, since we featured it in one of our Weekly Finds Post. Its is the perfect plum tone and has a great fit, but be ware, it runs a size smaller than what I usually wear. I´m obsessed with the little cut out it has on the waist, and the cool way they mad the straps go from center front to the back. To give the outfit a cool bohemian feel and a little dimension I added an ethnic print caftan also from Forever21 , which I could not resist to buy.

As you might know by now, I love to buy pieces that I can take from day to night easily, because I believe in multifunctional wardrobes, specially when like me you are not a size 6 and plus size clothes are usually more expensive. Caftans are a must have piece for summertime, you can wear them over your bathing suit at the beach or like I wore it today, paired with a skater dress and a pair of booties fom Torrid. I finished off the look with vintage brocade hoop earings and a pair of Bottega Veneta round cat eye sunnies. However you choose to Rock this look always remember  to pick pieces that complement your figure.

Until Next time!!

Weekly Finds : Transition to Spring

Hello Beautiful Beast!!
This week we where feeling easy and breezy, so we decided to do this Week´s Finds on Transitional pieces, for spring. For this time of the year the easiest way to start walking away from the winter blues is to incorporate color into your wardrobe. You should also look for fun silhouettes that you can wear with layering pieces for what is left of winter and rock later when the cold is gone. So we went to one of our forever favorite go to places Old Navy, and found super cute and affordable Spring time dresses and layering pieces for you to see.

These are our picks for this week:

Lime Maxi Dress
This maxi dress is a great piece to transition from Spring to summer time, because of its color. Lime yellow is still very on trend this season and it looks awesome with an edgy black leather jacket or a basic denim Jacket.

Shirt Dress

Combining a Basic piece like a button down shirt dress, with a Printed layering piece, is the best way to bring a little spunk to a very basic piece. This military inspired jacket is also a must have piece for spring, it brings structure to the outfit, without it looking too serious.

Fit and Flare dresses are one of our top 5 favorite pieces EVER. This silhouette hides the most common problem areas and accentuates the waist, making you look more proportioned.

Chambray Shirt Dress
Chambray is here to stay and everyone should have at least one Chambray piece in their closets. We loved this shirt dress because of it´s versatility, for the transitional days, where its not hot but its not freezing cold. You can add a pair of leggings under it and a leather jacket for the colder days and wear it with sandals and an orange lip for the warmer days.

So now its time for you to get started on your transitional wardrobe makeover. Always remember to try on things, and look for shapes that are flattering to your body type. We always encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, by adding pieces that you would´t normally wear. Weather it is wearing a bright lip color or a funky high heel, Fashion is supposed to be FUN not torture.

Stay tuned for more posts this week.
Until next time

Weekly Finds : Menswear Edition

This week we wanted to go in a different direction, and decided to do a Weekly Finds for our Male Followers. Yes! we said Male Followers!

Since every time we do our research, we end up in the menswear department, Just because we love menswear, we decided to post some of our favorite finds from this past month.

Like we have said in our previous posts, These past seasons have been all about prints. This spring is no exception. You will find, leopard, Aztec inspired graphic, and ditsy flower prints on everything that is menswear related.

We loved so many pieces, so to narrow down our pics, this post will be all about Polos and Shirts. (Don´t worry, we will be posting more stuff for you guys soon.)
Here are some of our favorites From Asos.com, Forever 21, and Pacsun :

Zig Zag Print Short sleeve Shirt

Clashing prints Long Sleeve

Panther Print Long Sleeve

Floral Print Short Sleeve

Lobster and Fries short sleeve

Tribal Print Polo

Tropical Print Shirt

Bandanna Print Polo

Floral Print Shirt

True Believers Shirt

If you are a little bit weary about changing your style, the best way to test out a trend like bold prints is to start adding pieces to your wardrobe. We advice, that you begin with pieces that have a great fit to your body type and focus on the color combinations the print has. As long as you Find flattering styles and colors, you do not have to worry about any stupid rule you have heard your mom or girlfriend talk about in the past.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks post!
Stay tuned for more on menswear info and posts.

Weekly Finds

For a while now we have been wanting to restart making posts about the plus size product we love and what we find in store and online. The purpose of this is pretty basic. We want to help our readers find cool stuff, and change their minds about fashion. Being in style is not as hard and unaffordable, as many people think. You just have to learn how and where to shop.

For this week´s post we chose One our favorite go to stores  Forever 21. We love that they have affordable and very edgy pieces for us plus size ladies and for the less curvy ladies too. Don´t expect their clothes to last forever, But then again if you want to invest in trendy pieces without spending too much money , this is the place. Through out our cool find hunt, we have been seeing a lot of plum colored pieces, floral, nautical and animal prints and also a little hyped up mint green shades.

It was very hard to pick only 4, so we encourage you to go online, and/or visit your local store, to check out more cool stuff for Spring time. So without further or due theses are this weeks 4 Must haves from Forever 21:

The Cut out skater dress.
Dress : Forever 21
$24.80
This plum hued skater has the perfect color and silhouette for this spring, plus the cut outs make it a little 90´s inspired. You can dress it up or down, this dress is a great basic to have in your closet. This silhouette is perfect for almost any body type, since it emphasizes the waist and is loose fitting in the bottom half.

Hyped Up Mint Fatkini

Fatkini : Forever 21
$12.80 each piece

Like we said in a previous blog posts Summer is coming and Suit up! ;  these two piece bathing suits are very much in style and here to stay. Who says curvy girls can´t wear a two piece suit? What we love a bout this one is that it comes in a variety of colors, so you can mix and match however you want. The price is not that bad either, since you get two pieces for under thirty dollars.

Leopard Print Harem Pants
Pants: Forever21
$19.80
Here at the offices we live by the motto of ¨Leopard is my favorite color¨. With this said you know we will always be up for almost anything in a leopard print. This pair of harem pants are great, and we love to rock them with a crop top, leather jacket and sneakers. They are a Must have piece because of their versatility. Go For them if you want to make a bold statement, and or wear leopard in a new way.

Nautical Bodycon Dress

Dress : Forever21
$17.80
Who says we cant wear horizontal stripes? If you wear them in right kind of silhouette you can, and they will look amazing. This bodycon dress is again a very good buy, because you can upgrade into a fancy outfit, and or can just rock it with a combat boot and give it a little edge. If you are not ready to expose your curves completely you can pair it with a cardigan or jacket and it will still look sexy and hip.

Always remember to get the right kind of shapewear to wear underneath these body conscious pieces. You don´t want to walk around with weird pantie lines and or marks, it can make a perfectly put together outfit look ¨skanky¨ and sloppy.

We love the Slimplicity Lingerie-Strap Slip from Spanx, for this kind of dresses. You can always find others, form other brands. You just have to remember to use the ones that fit and enhance your body type and the silhouette you are wearing.

So! Whats the best part of shopping at Forever 21? Well, we would say that you come out with a whole outfit for under a hundred dollars, and in this economy that is amazing. We hope you have a blast shopping , and remember you can always come to us with any question or suggestion on where, what, or how to shop for your size.
Stay tuned for next week´s Weekly Finds, who knows where we will shop again.

Two outfits, one day.

A few weeks ago Beautiful Beast began collaborating with online curve loving magazine su-style.com. It is a page dedicated to curvy Latinas, where you can find information, about products for us curvy ladies, articles on health and self esteem, and backstage footage from recent photo shoots and activities in the plus size world. Founded by publicist and jewelry designer Suzanne Ujaque, Su-style. com is a great place to find all the information you need to know about looking great, feeling great and inspired.

On our First colab, we wanted to show the readers, How you can create an outfit to wear from day time to night time, with just a few easy changes.  For thisValentine´s Day inspired outfit we used as base a basic black skater skirt, a very feminine Rose applique, knit top and a gold base statement necklace from Forever 21.

To make it casual, but still rocking, we added a washed out denim Jacket and patent leather Doctor Marten boots.

To pump up the look a little more put on some dark berry toned lipstick or even a bright red Matte one. For this look our favorites are SEPHORA COLLECTION Rouge Infusion Lip Ink in Cherry nectar and NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl.

These outfit tips will work on any body type, the key for success is to combine color, texture and layers. So don´t be scared to give it a try.

Don´t hate it, Style it

In the past few months, I have been frequently asked. Why I usually wear my hair up?,  How do I get my hair to look so cute? and even, Where do I find the info for the DIY fancy looking hairdo I have been wearing?  So here is my answer, this is the story behind my YouTube tutorial addiction.

Anyone can say whatever they want about getting radical hair make overs. For me it is the best way to get rid of bad vibes, that in some way make you feel heavy and sad. This is why I tend to do something crazy every other year, or maybe twice a year, depending on how many bad situations I have been in, or how badly I need change.

A few years ago I came across a blog post on postmodernrunway.com, it was titled 50 most stylish Newyorkers. It featured known and unknown bloggers, artist, stylists, models and creative directors, that worked in New York City. This is when I first saw a picture of Jenné Lombardo. I had no idea who she was, all I knew right then and there was that she was my new fashion idol.

Jenné Lombardo /

I shared my discovery with every one I knew, because I really wanted to get that hair style, but did not have the balls to do it. Until one day I fell victim of my own erratic behavior, and after going through bad emotionally draining episode, of its not you its me, I ran to my hairdresser and demanded him to give me what I thought was THE BEST HAIRCUT EVER, at that time.

I rocked it for almost a year, until Rhianna was photographed rocking it and consequently every single Fashion victim in Puerto Rico and the world, started asking for it at the hair salon.

I immediately started growing it out, but rapidly understood that I had to do something with my hair, because it was looking ratty and i was having a very hard time styling it.  I had rocked the pixie, when I was 15 and I loved it then, so I decided to chop my hair and getting one again.

And, Why is this relevant to what we wanted to show you guys today? Well, this is the reason behind why I began researching new ways to style my hair. I just needed some help avoiding a whole new I need to change may hair again rampage.

So once I had grown my hair down to a short bob, I began experimenting with Buns and braids.
With this said My Top go-to styles up to now are :

The messy Bun and The Sleek Ballerina Bun

Both versions of this style, are great for the days you want to look a little funky and fresh. It is a great go to for both day and night and there are many more versions of it to experiment. Weather you have long or short hair it will look awesome paired with a burgundy lipstick, and a graphic cat eye makeup.

The Milk Maid and Dutch Braid

Braids are always awesome if you want to go for a boho-Chic look. They are the perfect remedy for untamable hair days and give you a soft, girlie vibe. You can rock them with a maxi dress or to add some soft femininity to an all black ensemble.

YouTube Tutorials have been my saving Grace throughout this process. Don´t be afraid to experiment with this styles. Weather you have short or long hair, all  you only need a few tools, like small hair ties, booby pins, a comb, a sock bun, or a tube sock to make a sock bun, and hairspray.

To begin your journey you just have to log in to your You Tube page and type into the search bar, there are many cool tutorials out there waiting to be discovered.

Until Next Time My Beautiful Beast
